The BodyHoliday Spa Resort

Hyatt Regency Maui Resort and Spa

My stay in Grand Hyatt, Maui, was a rejuvenating experience where there was incredible body treatments all set in a gorgeous location.

I had the balcony ocean view room – was so peaceful, calm and serene.

The pool is spectacular and well kept and the restaurant by the pool bar had good food.

The service was wonderful and amazing and the people were generous and kind. The rooms are big and luxurious and the resort is pristine.
The location of the resort is fantastic and the Kaanapali beach strip is beautiful.

This is a great place to relax and rejuvenate and I highly recommend to stay here when in Maui.

Boston Whale Watching Cruise

Boston whale watching cruise

I booked my whale watching experience with New England Aquarium. After a short wait I boarded the cruise which had indoor and outdoor seating and served food and beverages for purchase.

Boston skyline as seen from the harbour.

The journey out into the Atlantic was calm with a fantastic view of the Boston skyline as we left.

Calm sea and clear blue sky but still chilly outside

It was a sunny day but it was still windy and I stayed in the indoor seating.

Yay!! the first whale I spotted:)

Around an hour into the sea we were surrounded by whales. It was a wonderful experience seeing the whales in their natural environment. I got to see mothers and babies and some of them were really close.

This experience was the highlight of my trip to Boston and is a must do if you are in the city. This was my first time on a whale watch and it was absolutely fantastic.

The most famous door in Dorset – Durdle Door

Durdle door is an amazing rock formation carved by the sea and is a breathtaking sight.

The walk to Durdle Door and Lulworth Cove is steep and narrow and is a challenge for the less fit and mobile but the view is well worth the long walk to see it. The sea is transparent blue and you can spend a day walking along the coast to great beach and views. Take a picnic or hike the hills and enjoy the views with many photographic opportunities so don’t forget to keep your phone or cameras charged.

Plan a long weekend here and I can assure you that with amazing sight and breathtaking views you won’t be disappointed.

Oceana – Wellness Oasis in Tenerife

Situated in the north of Teneriffe, Oceano in Punta del Hidalgo is a perfect retreat to rest, relax and recover. The hotel sits on the seafront and is surrounded by a garden with palm trees with the Anaga Mountains in the backdrop. The architecture is beautiful with earth tones throughout the property. There is a large pool in the lush green garden outside with views of the Atlantic ocean.

The best part of this hotel is that all rooms are facing the sea with stunning views. I had a room with an amazing view of the ocean and at nights I could hear the waves crashing on the rocks in the bay in front. The rooms are modern, comfortable and tastefully decorated with nice furnishings that includes a flat-screen tv, free Wi-Fi and bathrobes.

The hotel spa offers a range of wellness treatments including  massage treatments, hydrotherapy, ayurveda and thalassotherapy. There is a sauna and Turkish bath and a hydrotherapy pool. The therapists at the SPA and Mayr Centre are well trained and the spa offers a good range of treatments including healing facials, ayurveda, thalasso and body wraps. I opted for the Ayruvedic treatments  which included Abhyanga, Padabhyanga and Shirodhara. There is a gym and yoga and mediation classes can be arranged at the reception.

The restaurant serves healty food and there is a special menu for those following the detox programme. I particularly liked the breakfast with plenty of fresh fruit & juices, eggs cooked to order, and a nice array of tasty items. The staff was friendly and helpful.

For those of you who prefer going outdoors can opt for hiking or surfing in the ocean just outside the hotel. There are a number of city excursions too to chose from and can be booked at the reception.

View from my room.

Oceano is truly a relaxation and wellness oasis with mild and lovely weather throughout the year. The idyllic placement, quality spa treatments and excellent staff make this place a perfect zen retreat with its own share of repeat and loyal visitors. If you need to rest and rewind, then Oceano is the perfect place for you.

Absolute Sanctuary Wellness Retreat, Thailand

Absolute Sanctuary, Koh Samui

After a whirlwind three days of travel and activities in Bangkok it was time to cool off and relax and a perfect time for a spa retreat. After a  short flight from Bangkok, I arrived in Koh Samui late in the evening. A staff from my resort, Absolute Sanctuary, was there to pick me up.

I was on the spa detox programme which was a divine experience. I had a massage everyday and all the treatments were just great, my favourite being aroma therapy. The yoga instructors were professional and gave individual attention. The food was healthy and nutritious and the juice bar provided freshly made juices and smoothies. The staff were friendly and caring. I was well looked after  from the moment I arrived.

The beautiful Koh Samui beach was about 20 minutes away and they offered a free shuttle to the beach multiple times a day. They also offered a number of treatments and I tried reiki for the first time which was quiet an experience.

I could see the difference in myself after only a few days of my stay. My skin was glowing and my mind was calm.

This was a perfect wellness resort far from the crowd and after a week of yoga and detox, I felt a lot more healthier and relaxed and ready to face the ‘real’ world.

Lefay Spa Resort , Italy

I went for a short break to Lefay Spa resort in Italy for a spa retreat to relax and rejuvenate. This mountainside wellness resort is located about an hour away from Verona airport and overlooking Lake Garda, one of the most beautiful lakes in the world.

I arrived at Verona airport where I  was met by a Lefay representative and was driven to the resort. The journey from the airport to the resort was smooth and scenic. The moment I entered Lefay I knew I would enjoy my stay here. The reception area was beautiful and was nicely scented which was refreshing.  I was greeted by the friendly staff and given a brief tour of the facilities.I was presented with my schedule of consultations and treatments, along with the weekly timetable of complimentary group activities and classes.

I stayed in the deluxe suite which was luxurious. The bathroom was stocked with Lefay’s own products and the bed was so comfortable. After settling in, I had enough time to check out the infinity pool and the stunning scenic views it had to offer. It was just so nice to just relax by the infinity pool and look out to the stunning scenery whilst drinking one of their delicious smoothies.

The food served at the restaurant was a delight. There’s 2 restaurants, the Trattoria La Vigna (less formal) which is located on the ground floor, and La Grande Limonaia (more formal) on the upper floor. My favourite was the signature Il Limone dessert which I’d highly recommend as a treat for your last night.

The highlight of my stay was the salt lake Salt Lake, ‘La Luna Nel Lago’. This is a small pool of salt water with a glowing moon suspended from the ceiling. The salt in the water is said to have great properties for the skin. It was so serene and calm floating in the ambient water. Absolutely magical!

Another favourite spa treatment was the ayurvedic body massage and a Shirodara; which I must say was one of the best I’ve had outside of India.

I left Lefay relaxed and energised and I’d recommend it to anyone who wants a luxury wellness holiday in a stunning location.
